Preservation of the cultural heritage of Tibet, through the creation of dharma wheels, which both preserve and disseminate the benefits of enlightened knowledge in Asia and in the West. Prayer Wheels are installed at our local centers and also distributed to religious practitioners and monasteries at the annual World Peace Ceremony in Bodh Gaya, India. Volunteer needs: No experience is required and all training will be provided for a needed team of 5-6 people have an interest in deepening spiritual practice through quiet meditative work. Work description: Gluing, rolling, assembling, packaging and boxing of thousands of hand-held Prayer Wheels for donation to Tibetans in Asia in early 2009. Creation of larger Prayer Wheels for our local centers and to be distributed to schools, monasteries, nunneries and villages of Tibetan settlement throughout Asia. Commitment: 6 months preferred, but open to shorter commitments Requirements: A positive attitude to new learning and the ability to maintain care and precision in work that involves a variety of repetitive motions. Some knowledge and background with the Buddhadharma is helpful but not necessary.
